My journey to becoming an Acupuncturist started in childhood, where alternative medicine was part of my everyday life. I remember many trips to the homeopath, naturopath and acupuncturist for myself and my siblings. My mother would always try alternative therapies before medicating, where possible. Her belief was that the body has a wondorous ability to heal itself, given the right tools.
It was only much later, after some time in the corporate world, that I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an alternative health practitioner. I researched various different modalities, and fell in love with Chinese Medicine. As I researched further, my interest in this subtle, yet hugely powerful system of medicine grew. It was when I was successfully treated with Acupuncture that I decided to commit to three years of study and become an Acupuncturist.
Chinese Medicine offers me the opportunity to pursue those things I most enjoy - my insatiable curiosity in the wonderous healing power of nature, a desire to help others and my enjoyment of the scientific. I strive to continually improve my skills and knowledge through ongoing training and self development.
I believe in working in partnership with my clients, so that we share in a common goal - achieving optimum health. I also feel it is imperative to review progress at various stages along the way, to ensure we are achieving what we set out to.
